Herringbone and Double Helical Gears
Multi-axis milling increases the gear tooth accuracy to AGMA Q11, improving performance and life. One customer actually dropped their plans to use large gap double helical gears in a redesigned pump after receiving multi-axis milled gearing, saving considerable cost to them and their customers. Milled gearing lasts longer and its increased accuracy enables users to change out a worn pinion instead of a matched gear set.
Multi-axis milling uses OCG-specially-engineered end mills, eliminating the cost and delays of dedicated cutters for limited quantities of parts. Dedicated tooling reduces purchase price and lead time as order quantities rise.
